CenturyLink rapidly moves forward with its Monroe headquarters expansion. The nation’s third largest telecommunications company recently broke ground on its Technology Center of Excellence on March 4th and held a Construction Subcontractor Fair on April 2nd.
The new state-of-the-art facility will accommodate about 800 new employees and is expected to be completed by the end of 2014. The center will include technology research and development labs, a network operations center, and office and meeting space. Employees and vendors with network technology and IT skills will work together to create innovative products and services for CenturyLink’s customers.
The 250,000 square foot building will be situated on the north side of CenturyLink’s existing headquarters building on Hwy. 165 North in Monroe. The center should be operational in early 2015. A five-story parking garage will be constructed adjacent to the new facility, and construction on a new road to the center has already begun.
“We are very pleased to celebrate this milestone which demonstrates our commitment to northeastern Louisiana,” said Glen Post, III, CenturyLink CEO & President. “The CenturyLink team looks forward to continuing to work with community and business partners as we grow our presence here and work to strengthen the northeastern Louisiana region.”
